International high jewelry exhibition Haute Jewels Geneva announced this week it is returning “bigger and better” with 16 fine jewelry brands on display March 30–April 5 at the Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva.
Brands scheduled to be in attendance include: Yoko London, Roberto Coin, Sutra, Crivelli, Bayco, Etho Maria, Stenzhorn, Marco Bicego, Mariani, Palmiero, Picchiotti, Gorgoglione, Hans D. Krieger, Leo Pizzo, Verdi, and Annamaria Cammilli.
“Spring 2022 really feels like a brand-new start for the industry, as important trade events are finally going to take place in person,” says Maria Carola Picchiotti, director of marketing and communications at Picchiotti. “So being able to put together such an important group of independent jewelry brands is a great achievement, as during that week Geneva will literally be the worldwide jewelry epicenter.”
Simultaneously, Geneva will be the host city to the Watches and Wonders Geneva exhibition, which is also scheduled for March 30–April 5. Nearly 40 watchmaking brands are expected to participate in the in-person Watches and Wonders event—including Hublot, TAG Heuer, Oris, and Van Cleef & Arpels.
Organizers say one of the goals of Haute Jewels 2022 is to remove the formality from the traditional trade show experience, providing a relaxed atmosphere for both clients and exhibitors to discover exclusive jewelry designs.
“Everybody will be able to take advantage of it: jewelry brands that can finally exhibit in an elegant and luxurious environment, retailers and buyers that can find the best possible new products, and the press, who will be able to discover all the news and novelties of the industry. And all in one place,” Picchiotti says.
The participating jewelry companies are like-minded in their approaches to jewelry and their anticipation of working together on this event, Picchiotti adds.
“Haute Jewels Geneva will be the showcase for 16 fine jewelry brands coming from different countries around the world, each one of them with its own peculiar workmanship, design, and marketing strategies,” Picchiotti says. “Every brand will propose its own uniqueness in its own segment, but the outstanding level of each one of them will be the common denominator.”
The inaugural Haute Jewels Geneva took place in 2019 and four jewelry brands—Yoko London, Roberto Coin, Sutra, and Crivelli—came together to create the event. Organizers canceled the show in 2020 and 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic and its related impact.
Organizers say Haute Jewels Geneva 2022 will give visitors a luxurious experience, bringing buyers and suppliers together—something that feels that much more special because of the pandemic and people’s collective desire to meet in person again, Picchiotti says.
“The aim of Mr. Michael Hakimian, CEO of Yoko London and founder of Haute Jewels Geneva, was to establish an elite group that would be up to the level of the exhibitions taking place in Geneva during that week,” Picchiotti says. “By bringing these stellar brands together, I would say that the aim has been reached, and this event might well be on its way to becoming the leading industry event of independent jewelry brands.”
